Removing the mounting aid (Figure J)
Remove the mounting aid (5) from the racing
shell (1) on both sides.
Final mounting (Figure K)
Tighten all 8 fastening screws (6) and (10) or
(12) with a tightening torque of
23 Nm +2/–3 Nm.
DANGER
Danger of serious injury if the racing shell
becomes detached from its anchoring.
Use only the supplied microencapsulated
screws when installing the racing shell.
Use the supplied microencapsulated screws
only once.
Tighten all screws with the specified torque.
3.4. Fitting the protector on the HANS system
(Figure N)
NOtICE
the racing shell cover can be damaged by the
HANS system without a protector!
No warranty claims will be possible without the
HANS protector fitted.
Fit the factorysupplied protector (14) onto the
HANS system (15) using the selfadhesive
Velcro fasteners (16).
To do this, guide the restraining straps of the
HANS system through the openings provided for
that purpose on the supplied protector.
3.5. Replacing / cleaning the PAD system
(Figures L and M)
DANGER
Incorrectly fitted cushions can cause serious
injury!
Do not remove any cushions in the stipulated
areas (Figure M).
The pads stipulated by RECARO MUST be
fitted in the areas marked in Figure M at all
times.
NOtICE
Incorrect use of the cushions can damage the
racing shells!
Use only original RECARO components for the
upholstery.
Fit the cushions only in the locations provided
(Figure L).
Refer to Page 5 for the associated dra-
wings.
Replacing pads
RECARO P1300GT pad kits in various sizes are
available to adapt the upholstery of the racing shell
to the various needs and proportions of different
racing drivers. The cushions fitted as standard can
be replaced in the corresponding areas by thicker
or thinner pads.
1. Pull the pad being replaced firmly off the Velcro
fastener.
2. Replace the pad with the corresponding cushion
of your choice.
Cleaning pads
All seat cushions and pads can be removed for
cleaning or reupholstering.
Pull the seat cushions and pads firmly off the
Velcro fastener.
The seat cushions and pads can now be easily
cleaned or replaced. See Page 15 for cleaning
instructions.
