This chapter describes how to manually secure the wireless connection of the C300APRA2. By default the
wireless connection is not secured. To prevent unauthorized access to your network, securing your
network is necessary.
7.1 Wireless settings
Follow the steps below to manually configure the wireless security.
A.
Login to the C300APRA2 as described in Chapter 5.2.
B.
Click on "Interface Setup" and then on "Wireless" in the top menu.
C.
Under "WPS Settings" you can change the "SSID" of the router.
Note:
The SSID is the name of the wireless connection to your router. When searching for
wireless networks on your computer, this is the name you will be looking for.
D.
Choose an "Authentication Type" from the drop down list.
Note:
All security options are explained in the steps that will follow, but it is advised to secure your
network using "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK" security. This enables the highest security level (WPA2),
while maintaining backwards compatibility with clients that only support WPA.
Note:
Remember or write down the security information you enter. You will need it when you want to
connect a wireless client to the C300APRA2.
