Sinking at heel strike
Foot slap
Rapid transition from the heel strike
through stance phase
Difficulty controlling heel action (e.g.
foot jars into mid-stance)
Foot feels too rigid
Drop off in mid-late stance
Feels like walking downhill
Difficulty walking over the forefoot
Feels like walking uphill
Note... Bilateral amputees may require stiffer snubbers than unilateral amputees. Trans-femoral
amputees may require a softer plantarflexion action than trans-tibial amputees.
