II. Connecting the appliance to the gas cylinder (fig. 2)
The following parts are required to connect the appliance:
-
a standard gas cylinder
-
fixed DIN-DVGW approved pressure regulator (enclosed), 1.5 kg/h, suitable for
the gas cylinder being used - Working pressure, see factory setting.
-
DIN-DVGW approved 1.60 m long hosing (enclosed)
-
approved leak-detector spray or foam-producing agent
(Enders gas control spray, product no. 1196).
Connecting the gas cylinder:
1.
Attach the pressure regulator (1) to the gas cylinder.
2. Connect the hosing (6) to the connector on the pressure regulator
using the clamp (20) provided.
3. Connect the gas hose from the burner to the gas hose from the
regulator using the quick coupler provided.
4. With the regulator valve (2) open, check that none of the connection points
are leaking gas. If there is no bubble formation, no leaks are present.
III. Information regarding commercial use
According to trade association directive D34 (formerly VBG 21) an excess-flow valve meeting the DIN 30 693 standard "excess-flow
valves for liquid gas systems" and a safety pressure regulator with excess pressure cut-out are to be used if the appliance is being used
commercially (at a fair for example). Excess-flow valve and safety pressure regulator are not included.
IV. Turning the heater on
1. Open the regulator valve (2).
2. Press the regulator knob towards the large flame symbol as far as it will go, whilst simultaneously repeatedly depressing the piezo-electric
ignition. Hold the regulator knob for about 10 seconds after ignition in order to activate the ignition safety switch. Should the gas fail to
ignite after pressing the piezo-electric ignition 3 or 4 times, leave the appliance for about 2 minutes and then repeat the process.
Note: It is possible to ignite the appliance using other ignition devices (gas lighters, matches) through the 18.5 mm aperture in the bottom
of the burner.
V. Turning the heater off.
To turn the heater off, close the regulator valve (2).
VI. Storage instructions
Remove the pressure regulator from the gas hose. Always check the seals for damage.
Should damage be identified or suspected, speak to your distributor or filling agent.
Never store liquid gas cylinders in the home, underground or in unventilated spaces!
