MAINTENANCE
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Always begin by disconnecting the power supply.
Periodically check all clamps, nuts, bolts, screws,
and belts for tightness and condition. Make sure the
throat plate is in good condition and in position.
Check the blade guard assembly. To maintain the table
surfaces, fence, and rails, periodically apply paste wax
to them and buff to provide smooth functioning.
Protect the blade by cleaning out sawdust from
underneath the table and in the blade teeth.
Use a resin solvent on the blade teeth.
Clean plastic parts only with a soft damp cloth.
Do Not use any aerosol or petroleum solvents.
LUBRICATION
This saw has been lubricated at the factory prior to
shipment.
TO CHECK THE RIP FENCE ALIGN TO THE
BLADE (Fig. 16)
Raise the locking handle to permit the rip fence
to be moved.
Place a framing square beside the blade and move
the fence up to the square. Take the dimension on
the rip scale.
Move the fence back and turn the framing 180 degree
to check the other side.
If the two dimensions are not the same, loosen the
two screws (24) and align it. Retighten the two screws.
Adjust the clamp screw (41) to ensure fence can be
locked tightly on the saw.

NOISE
Noise levels can vary widely from machine depending on
conditions of use. Persons exposed to high noise levels,
even for a short time, may experience temporary partial
hearing loss and continuous exposure to high levels can
result in permanent hearing damage.
The woodworking Machines Regulations require
employers to take reasonable practicably measures to
reduce noise levels where any person is likely to be
exposed to a continuous equivalent noise level of
85 dB(A) or more over an 8 hour working day.
Additionally, suitable ear protectors must be provided,
maintained and worn.
Machines identified as a generating unhealthy noise
levels should be appropriately marked with a warning of
the need to wear hearing protection and it may be
necessary to designate particular areas of the workplace
as "Ear protection zones". Suitable warning signs are
specified in the Safety Signs Regulations 1980. It may be
necessary to construct a suitable noise enclosure,
in which case professional advice should be sought.
Further information and references to practical guidance
are contained in free leaflets available from the Health
and & Safety Executive.
