Disassembly
NOTE: Follow these instructions carefully. The quality and performance of the rebuilt Aficio 200/250 photoconductor unit (PCU) will depend on your
workmanship, as well as the condition of the used PCU being rebuilt.
1. Remove and set aside the developer cartridge (A) by carefully releasing three snap-fit tabs. IMPORTANT: Do not remove the cartridge too quickly, as used developer
inside the cartridge is likely to spill. Thoroughly vacuum remaining developer out of the PCU and the developer cartridge.
2. Remove the upper drum cover (B) from the PCU by releasing six snap-fit tabs and disconnecting the intermediate connector (C).
3. Remove the drum charge roller unit (D) by lifting it straight upward. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOUCH THE CHARGE ROLLER SURFACE. Be careful not to lose the charge roller unit
springs. Clean the charge roller with charge roller cleaning wipe, or with clean deionized water and white Chicopee Chix Soft Cloth.
4. Remove the shutter cam (E) by removing one screw and pulling it out from the bottom of the unit.
5. Remove the front plate (F) by removing one screw and pulling it out from the bottom of the unit.
6. IMPORTANT: Be sure to note the positions of the front (G) and rear (H) drum shutter return spring arms before removing the drum shutter. Remove the drum shutter (J) by
pulling it toward the front of the unit.
7. Remove the rear drive hub (K) by pulling it straight out.
