If you decide to use the lamp failure detection system, see APPENDIX 1. (Page.26)
The following will be noted in wiring diagram 1:
WARNING:
DO NOT INVERT POLARITY!!
Protect the installation with four 15 A fuses, placing one in each of the red wires as close as possible
to the battery connection.
Connect the two grey wires to the speaker, which will have been previously chosen to match the
type of mounting.
The amplifier has an input for connection to the vehicle's radiotelephone. This connection, which
is optional, allows the voice signal received by the radiotelephone to be amplified and reproduced by the
siren's speaker. It is useful when the occupants of the vehicle are away and want to continue hearing
the radio transmissions. To make this connection, locate the radiotelephone speaker wires and connect
one of the two blue wires leading from the amplifier to each of them. (See wiring diagram).
Another possible connection enables the siren to be controlled by the vehicle horn button. This
connection (green wire) which normally has a voltage halfway between 12 and 0 volts, is activated
whether connected to the positive or negative terminal.
This connection should preferably be connected to the vehicle horn operating circuit, but it can
also be connected to an independent button, which could either be foot-operated or positioned on the
handlebar of a motorbike.
If you choose to operate this connection via the vehicle's horn control, there are two options:
A) Install a relay in accordance with the diagram and figure enclosed. In this case, when the
equipment is switched on, the horn button stops controlling the vehicle horn and controls the special siren
connection. The horn returns to its normal status when the siren is disconnected.
B) Install a switch which allows the above operation to be perfomed manually.
To install the relay or switch, proceed as follows:
- Locate the wire which connects the vehicle's horn control to the horn or to the relay. Cut this
wire nearby in a place where it is possible to install a relay.
-Feed the relay coil from any nearby available positive.
-Connect the other side of the coil to the PINK wire (see wiring diagram).
-Connect the idle contacts of the relay to the ends of the cut wire and the other terminal to the
GREEN wire (see wiring diagram).
Red wires: + 12 V BATTERY
Brown wire: NEGATIVE BATTERY
