INSTALLATION AND PUTTING INTO SERVICE
Remove FAST BLADE© from its packaging and make sure it has
not been damaged during transport. Check that the line voltage
and frequency are as required. FAST BLADE© must be connected
to an electrical system that complies with current legislation and is
properly earthed. Connect the 2p+e plug to the electrical system
outlet.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INITIAL START-UP:
The first time you use FAST BLADE©, check that it is installed correctly
and that the voltage in the electrical system is 220 V AC.
SWITCHING ON
To start FAST BLADE©, plug it in and set the power switch to " I". If
there is no power, FAST BLADE© will switch off. To reset it, press " O"
and then "I" again.
SWITCHING OFF
To switch off FAST BLADE©, set the power switch to " O".
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHARPENING
Do not use any liquid or other material on the belts. FAST BLADE©
must only work while dry. Pay particular attention to the types of
blades that can be sharpened.
SHARPENING KNIVES
While sharpening the knife, the operator must stand up straight and
not bend over. To perform successful sharpening:
1. Grip the handle of the knife to be sharpened firmly and position
the blade parallel to the horizontal plane with the tip pointing
forward;
2. Bring the blade into contact along the insertion line created by
the desired angle. 5 different angles can be used, depending on the
result to be obtained:
position no. 1
30 degrees
position no. 2
38 degrees
position no. 3
45 degrees
position no. 4
50 degrees
position no. 5
55 degrees.

3. Slide the blade backwards and forwards a few times, applying
very light pressure;
4. Remove the knife by pulling it upwards;
5. Check the result by cutting a piece of paper held vertically;
6. Repeat until achieving the desired level of sharpening (usually
2/3 times).
MAINTENANCE
BELTS
The three abrasive belts positioned inside FAST BLADE© can sharpen
about seventy blades. When the belts become worn, change them to
ensure that sharpening is always efficient.
SAFETY DEVICES AND MALFUNCTIONING
The safety device on the motor is composed of a fuse (black, marked
"FUSE"), positioned by the start button. If the fuse stops working,
the sharpening machine will not operate. In this case, replace the
protective fuse with a new one of the same type and model.
To replace the damaged fuse, unscrew the fuse holder marked " fuse"
in an anti-clockwise directions, remove it and replace it with a new
one. Replace the whole part and screw it in clockwise. Also check that
the protective covers are intact.
PERIODIC EXTERNAL CLEANING
Once a week, clean the extractor, the FAST BLADE© surface and
anywhere metal dust accumulates using a dry cloth, a vacuum
