INSTALLING THE NOZZLE
• Remove sealing cap from cartridge.
• Align the 3M™ Dynamic Mixing Nozzle with the cartridge outlets, making sure to position the large outlet (cartridge) with the large inlet
(nozzle), and the small outlet (cartridge) with the small inlet (nozzle).
• Press down on the nozzle until the locking retainer engages the mixing nozzle.
EQUALIZING THE CARTRIDGE
• Attach an air line to the dispenser inlet.
• Using proper air pressure settings (see Instruction Manual included with the 3M™ Dynamic Mixing Gun) and a disposable collection point,
depress the trigger and dispense enough material to achieve a consistent color - generally a pool about 1 1/2" in diameter. This will make sure
both components of the two-part product are present in the correct ratio, and serve to "equalize" the cartridge.
• The 3M™ Dynamic Mixing Nozzle should be replaced once the curing process begins to occur in the nozzle (typically after 3-4 minutes without
depressing the trigger).
• Remove the nozzle by retracting one retainer tab and using a slight "rocking motion" of the nozzle while pulling away from the cartridge.
ADJUS™ENTS
• Plunger dispense rate is controlled by the air regulator located at the end of the plunger tube housing. Dispense rates have been established to
obtain optimum performance; use pre-set positions for filler and glaze.
o Turning the regulator knob clockwise
Please note that increasing the dispense rate too far may prevent adequate mixing of the dual-component material from occuring. Should
irregularities in dispensed materials be noted, the dispense rate should be reduced.
o Turning the regulator knob counter-clockwise
• Lower dispense rates are recommended for better control while using glaze due to the lower viscosity of this material.
DISPENSING TECHNIQUES
• Material may be dispensed directly onto the damaged area, or onto a non-porous surface, such as a spreader or a mixing board.
• Immersing the nozzle in the puddle of material eliminates any air entrapment during dispensing.
• Proceed with application method (ie spreading) as desired.
• You may continue to dispense material until the normal material curing process clogs the mixing nozzle – typically after 3-4 minutes without
depressing the trigger. If more repair material is desired after curing has occurred, remove and install a new nozzle.
• CAUTION: Be sure to replace nozzles containing fully or semi cured material to prevent damage to cartridge or nozzle or personal injury.
Dispose of uncured material in an approved receptacle.
REMOVING THE CARTRIDGE
• Retract the plunger rods by manually depressing the return rod (located above the cartridge centerline) back toward the tool housing until it
stops at the mounting plate and the plunger rods disengage from the cartridge.
• Rotate the cartridge 90 degrees to the left (as viewed from above) and separate straight away from the dispenser.
