Adding Fish: Before adding any fish, dechlorinate your aquarium water (with BIO-Safe™ Tap Water
Detoxifier) and allow your Emperor Power Filter to operate for 24 hours. Start with 2-3 fish per 10 gallons
of water. Add more fish gradually over a 4-6 week period.

Quick Setup Guide
Install Filter Cartridge(s)
and Media Container
A. Rinse Filter Cartridge thoroughly. Install as
shown (blue side toward back of Filter Box).
Open and fill one side of Media Container.

Close and rinse thoroughly. Install as shown.

To start your system, just plug it in.
Adjust Spray Bar(s) to desired
angle for water flow.

Replace Filter Cartridge every 2 - 4
weeks. NEVER clean or replace
BIO-Wheel (unless damaged). Wheel
discoloration is normal and desirable.
If excessive buildup occurs, rinse
BIO-Wheel gently with dechlorinated
water (room temp) as needed. Refillable
Media Container is for adding other
filtration media. If preferred, an additional
Filter Cartridge can be used in place of
the Media Container.
Before adding water,
install assembled Emperor
on back of aquarium frame.
Fill Filter Box with aquarium
water until it spills into aquarium.
Replace Filter Cover.
