Thermal effects
When measuring low resistances, you must take two parameters into account in
assessing the result:
- the measurement temperature,
- the test current and its duration of application (applying a high current to a
resistance for a long time causes its temperature to rise).
In effect, the temperature has a large influence on the measurement result and on
the value of the resistance measured. Moreover, the temperature coefficient of
most conductors is known.
For example, the temperature coefficient of copper is 0.4 % per ° C.
A copper conductor having a resistance of 10.00 mΩ at 20 ° C will have a
resistance of 10.40 mΩ at 30 ° C.
The measuring cables and the measuring instrument are also made of
conductors subject to the effects of temperature.
For the greatest possible accuracy, after the first measurement, make a second
with the measuring leads reversed.
The mean of the two results obtained will give an accurate, reliable result.

- 0...200.0 mΩ with a resolution of 100 µΩ - test current: 100 mA
- 0...2,000 mΩ with a resolution of 1 mΩ - test current: 100 mA
