The fact that the towing bracket has been mounted to the vehicle must be entered in the
vehicle papers at the next possible opportunity. The mounting instructions must be added to
the vehicle papers.
General Installation Intructions:
If present, remove insulating compound and/or underseal in the area of the towing bracket
contact surfaces. Coat bare bodywork with anti-corrosion paint.
Mount 7-pin electrical system as per DINV 72570.
Mount 13-pin electrical system as per ISO 11446.
Retighten all mounting bolts of the towing bracket after aprox. 1000 towing km. Please note,
that after mounting the drawbar the mass of your vehicle will change.
Mounting instructions:
Remove the rear lights, the bumper and its inset then lower the exhauster.

Undo the trunk upholstery.

Fit the drag hook (1) to positions "a" of the rear wall, then mark the positions "b" on the
–
rear wall.
Drill through the rear plate at positions "b" with a ∅10mm drill.

Remove the plastic insulating layer from the bearing surface of the accessory plates ( 2,3)
–
in the trunk.
Put the accessory plates (2,3) into the trunk, then according to the drawing loosely fit them
–
with the drag hook body at positions „b" with the attached bonding units. (The spacers
number 11 and 12 should be placed outside, the spacers number 13 should be placed
inside!)
From above drill through the bottom plate at positions „c" and „d" with a ∅10mm drill.

According to the drawing loosely fix the accessory plates (2,3) at positions „c" with the
–
attached bonding units.
Put the accessory plates (4,5) to the inner side of the undercarriage beam behind the rear
–
wall, then loosely fix them at positions „d" with the attached bonding units according to
the drawing.
According to the drawing loosely fix the drag hook body (1) to positions „a" of the rear wall
–
with the attached bonding units.
Set the drag hook into mid-position then tighten all the screws.
–
Connect the electric wire cracking the rear bundle according to the regulations.
–
Cut out the bumper according to the attached template (only for model years of 2001-
–
2004/3!).
Hang up the exhauster then reinstall the bumper and its inset and the rear lights.
–
Reinstall the trunk upholstery.
–
Only specialized shops are authorised to complete installation of the drag hook.
