1) Unscrew the 2 screws in the plate at the back.
2) Grasp the knob in the middle of the plate and pull the socket holder towards you.
3) Carefully insert the lamp into the socket. Remember not to touch the bulb with your bare
hands and to insert the lamp correctly (one pin is larger than the other!!). Slide the lamp
holder back into place and fasten the 2 screws.
4) The plate carries three small screws (marked 1, 2 & 3) that are used to adjust the
position of the lamp. Remember that the lamp is not of the hot-restrike type : you must
wait ± 10 min. after having turned off the lamp before you can turn it back on again.
Remarks :
1) Do not operate the device when the cover is off.
2) If necessary, you can slightly realign these screws in order to achieve max. light output.
b) Mounting the Device
• Respect EN 60598-2-17 and all other applicable norms during installation. A qualified person
should install this device.
• The construction to which the device is attached should be able to support 10 times the
weight for one hour without deformation.
• The installation must always be secured with a secondary attachment e.g. a safety cable
(VDLSC8).
• Never stand directly below the device when mounting, removing or servicing it. Have a
qualified technician check the device before you bring it into service. Have a qualified
technician check the entire installation once a year.
• Install the device in a location where few people pass by and that is inaccessible to
unauthorised persons.
• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience : calculating work load limits, determining
the installation material to be used... Have the material and the device itself checked from
time to time. Do not attempt to install the device yourself if you lack these qualifications as
improper installation can result in injuries.
• Make sure there are no flammable materials within a 50cm radius of the device.
• A qualified electrician should carry out the electric connection.
• Connect the device to the mains with the power plug. In general, lighting effects should not
be connected to dimming packs.
• The installation has to be approved by an expert before the device is taken into service.
