5. With hands expanded,
stretch the neck seal
outward, and pull the
Universal Safe Escape
Respirator Trainer over
the head.
If eyewear is worn, be sure to expand the neckseal
outward far enough to clear the eyewear during don-
ning. If the neck seal or hood material of the Universal
Safe Escape Respirator becomes torn or damaged the
result may be serious personal injury or death.
6. Adjust the nosecup on
the face. The nosecup
must cover the nose
and mouth for proper
protection when using
the Universal Safe
Escape Respirator.
7. Adjust harness by
grasping the back of the
hood and pulling it into
position so that the har-
ness cradles the crown
of the head.
DONNING
8. Ensure the neckseal is
sealed against neck.
Nothing should be
obstructing the neck-
seal to the skin.
If hair, clothing, or other conditions prevent direct con-
tact between the skin and neck opening of the
Universal Safe Escape Respirator, then a satisfactory
seal may not be achieved. Failure to follow this warn-
ing can result in serious personal injury or death.
9. Pull the skirt of the
hood down to cover the
neckseal area.
Note: If the situation permits, another person can help to
ensure that nothing is obstructing the neckseal to the skin
and that the skirt of the hood covers the neckseal area.
