Install the Whirlpool (cont.)
Verify that the whirlpool is level and resting on all supports. The whirlpool should be within 1/8"
(3 mm) of level from side to side, and within 1/4" (6 mm) of level lengthwise. If the whirlpool is
not level, remove the whirlpool and place shims under the supports.
Install the Whirlpool
Remove the whirlpool from the alcove.
NOTE: The whirlpool supports must rest directly on the subfloor.
Build a dam to keep the flooring material clear of the drain area.
NOTE: Do not use gypsum cement or drywall compound for this application, as they will not provide
adequate support.
NOTE: Do not spread mortar around the whirlpool supports.
Spread a 2" (51 mm) layer of mortar on the subfloor.
Remove the dam.
Move the whirlpool into position.
Make sure the pump support bracket does not rest in the bed material.
Verify that the whirlpool is level and resting on all supports.
