Troubleshooting

This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. An Authorized Service Representative or qualified
electrician should correct all electrical problems. For warranty service, contact your dealer or wholesale
distributor.
Symptoms
1.
Whirlpool does not
start/stop.
Motor starts, but all jets

are not functioning.
3.
Whirlpool stops by itself.
4.
Whirlpool is noisy.
5.
Motor runs but the pump
will not prime (cavitates).

Leakage is detected under
the whirlpool.

Mold or mildew detected
at the wall seams (for

Probable Causes
A. No power to the pump motor.
B. Air actuator does not work.
C. Pump motor does not work.
A. Jet is closed.
B. Jet is blocked.
A. GFCI trips.
B. Suction blocked.
C. Jets are blocked.
D. Motor has overheated and the
protection device has activated.
A. Pump banding straps that hold
the pump to the whirlpool have
not been cut.
A. Pump is shimmed too high.
B. Small air leak at the pump inlet. B. Securely tighten nut(s) on intake
C. Pump is not working.
A. Piping leaks.
B. Inadequate sealant application.
A. Infrequent cleaning.
A. Seam at the finished wall was
not sealed.
Recommended Action
A. Reset the GFCI breaker. Check the
wiring. Contact a qualified
electrician if necessary.
B. Connect, straighten, clean, or
replace air actuator tubing. Replace
the air actuator.
C. Replace the pump motor.
A. Rotate the jet trim ring to open.
B. Remove the blockage.
A. Identify the source of fault and
correct it. Contact a qualified
electrician if necessary.
B. Remove the obstruction.
C. Remove the blockage.
D. Check for blockage at the motor
vents. Remove blockage and allow
motor to cool. Check for suction
blockage. Remove the blockage and
allow motor to cool. Check for jet
