5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

5.1. DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT

Do not use the instrument for current measurement on non-insulated
live conductors
The measurements can be performed with the toroid inserted in its seat or
remotely via the integrated connection cable
Fig. 2: Use of the instrument for DC current measurement
1. Switch on the instrument by pressing the
2. With the instrument without any conductor inside the toroid, always press the ZERO
key in order to zeroed the residual magnetization
3. Open the jaws and insert the phase cable in the middle of it (see Fig. 2). The value of
current is shown on the main display and the percentage value is shown on the
secondary display
4. A positive reading indicates that current flows in the direction of the arrow on the
clamp (see Fig. 1 - part 11)
5. A negative reading indicates that the current is flowing in the opposite direction to the
arrow on the clamp (see Fig. 1 - part 11)
6. Do not include more than one conductor inside the toroid (see Fig. 2) as the effects of
the opposite currents deleting each other out and no result is shown on the display
