Reading a tag with Mothering selected
To select Mothering, see "How to start a new session" (p. 10).
When in a mothering session, first scan the Dam's electronic tag,
or use 'Find Animal' (press
the Dam based on its visual tag.
You will be asked to specify this animal as a Dam (press
you can record data against its ID in the usual manner.
Next, scan the offspring and select the 'Offspring' option from
the pop-up menu. The Dam's ID will be automatically recorded
against this animal, along with any other manual data that may
be desired.
Multiple offspring can be recorded in this manner without having
to re-scan the mother repeatedly.
Enter a VID manually
On a tag read, if an EID does not have a corresponding VID
number, this can be manually entered to create an EID/VID cross
reference for the animal.
