9 ANOMALIES
Below you find some anomalies that may occur during operation, as well as the correct procedure for its verification and
correction.
ABNORMALITY
Excitation switch, if it exists, is not working.
Interruption in the main excitation circuit;
Exciter stator is open;
ABNORMALITY
Rotating rectifiers are defective;
Speed is uncertain;
Wrong connection of the exciter;
WITH NO LOAD, THE ALTERNATOR EXCITES UP TO THE RATED VOLTAGE, BUT IT COLLAPSES WITH LOAD
ABNORMALITY
Rotating diodes are defective;
Sharp speed drop;
ABNORMALITY
Exciter voltage not complying with the type of
connection;
ABNORMALITY
Oscillations in the speed of the driving machine;
NOTE
The machines referred to in this manual experience constant improvement, so the information in this manual
is subject to change without notice.

THE ALTERNATOR WILL NOT EXCITE
ALTERNATOR WILL NOT EXCITE UP TO THE RATED VOLTAGE
THE NO LOAD ALTERNATOR, EXCITES THROUGH THE SURGE
OSCILLATIONS IN THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGES
PROCEDURE
Check the switch;
Measure all the rotating diodes; change defective diodes
or all the diode set;
Check ohmic resistance
PROCEDURE
Measure individually all the rotating diodes; replace
defective diodes; if necessary, change all the set;
Measure the speed and regulate it;
Check exciter voltage in relation to excitation voltage;
PROCEDURE
Measure individually all the rotating diodes; replace
defective diodes; if necessary, change the entire set;
Control the driving machine selector;
PROCEDURE
Check exciter voltage in relation to excitation voltage;
PROCEDURE
Frequent fluctuations originate in the driving machine
and need to be eliminated.
