General Note to Avoid Electromagnetic Interference:
A permanent, flawless wheel-rail contact is required in order to guarantee operation
for which a model is designed. Do not make any changes to current-conducting parts.
Mode of Operation Switch
This model has a four-position switch for the mode of operation. It is located in the
engineer's cab.

Functions
• This model is designed for operation on LGB two-rail DC systems with conventio-
nal LGB DC train controllers or power packs (DC, 0 – 24 volts).
Service and maintenance
Lubrication
The axle bearings should be lubricated occasionally with a small amount of Märklin-
Oil (7149).
Changing Light Bulbs (E130 023)
Lamps (front): Pull the lamp housing from the model. Pull the light bulb plugged into
the socket from the latter. Insert the new light bulb. Re-assemble the model.
Lamps (rear): Carefully lift the lens out of the lantern housing. Then use a pair of
tweezers to pull the light bulb out of the bulb holder. Now insert a new light bulb.
Finally, put the lantern back together.
Interior Lighting: Pull the light bulb from the socket using a pair of tweezers. Insert
the new light bulb.
Replacing Traction Tires
• There are five screws under the mechanism. Loosen the first, second and fifth
screws.
• Carefully pull the mechanism out of the frame.
• If necessary, pull the current pickup wire off.
• Remove the hex head screws used to mount the drive and side rods to the center
driving wheels. Remove the side rods from the wheels.
• Use a small flat blade screwdriver to remove the old traction tire: Lift the old
traction tire from the groove in the driving wheel. Carefully push the new traction
tire over the wheel and into the groove. Make sure that the traction tire is properly
seated.
• Put the model back together.
