Step 2. Rotate the back flush switch
to cleaning mode and wait several
minutes until cleaning is complete
and there is no longer any dirty water
coming out.
Step 3. Rotate the back flush switch
back to working mode.
Step 4. If the pressure indicator
is still visibly red, the filter should
be disassembled and cleaned
thoroughly using warm water.
The filter pads should be replaced
annually.
Step 5. To open the filter to
clean or replace the filter pads,
disconnect the filter from the outlet,
and remove the tubing from the
filter.
Step 6. Unlatch the clamps.
Step 7. Remove the cover.
Step 8. Remove all parts, except
for the bio-balls, from the filter and
clean thoroughly using warm water.
Replace the filter pads annually.
NOTE: The bio-balls contain
beneficial bacteria. At least once
a year the entire system should
be disassembled and cleaned
thoroughly using warm water.
This should not be done during
the warm season as it may take
up to 8 weeks to re-establish the
environmental balance.
The best time of the year to
"breakdown" your system is in
early spring before the water
temperatures begin to rise. This is
also the ideal time to replace the
filter pads.
Step 9. Reassemble all parts back
into the filter.
