Tightening the belts

Inspect the belts daily. Stretch them whenever necessary and replace them when the belts look dried
out and worn out.
The tension of the belt must be only enough to avoid slippage while operating. Remember that a loose
belt slips and then gets worn out prematurely. However, when the belt is excessively tight, it overloads
the parts of the transmission and thereby damage them.
Continually check the belts, during the first working hours. It is common for new belts to become looser
when first being operated.
Loosen the 2 screws A.
Tighten nut B to tighten the belts.
Retighten screws A.
NOTE: It is not recommended to mix used and old
belts. When necessary, replace all the belts.

Blades

The blades in SDN-170A are reversible. Change sides when you observe accentuated wear.

CHANGING THE BLADE:

When the cutting bar is in the normal operating position, place a wooden shim or something similar
between the discs to prevent their movement. Remove the blade fastening screw (fig.20).
Change the cutting side of the blade and assemble it again on the same disc.
