10. Light Kit Assembly (Optional). (cont.)
Place lock washer and hex nut on threaded rod. Tighten hex
nut over lock washer so that the light kit fitter fits securely on
the switch housing cap. Make wire connections as described
below.
Connect WHITE wire from light kit fitter to WHITE wire from
switch housing. Connect BLACK wire from light kit fitter to
BLUE (or BLACK) wire from switch housing. Be sure that molex
connections snap together. Attach light kit fitter to fan by
aligning holes in switch housing cap with holes in switch
housing.
(Note: Make sure to align gap on top edge of the switch
housing cap with the reverse switch on switch housing for the
correct fit.) Re-insert the 3 screws that were previously
removed and securely tighten the screws.
Install 2 candelabra base 60 watt max. bulbs (included).
Important: When replacing bulbs, please allow bulb(s) and
glass shade to cool down before touching them.
Partially unscrew the 3 screws in the light kit fitter. Raise the
glass shade and hold it in place in the base of the light kit fitter.
Secure the glass shade by turning the screws until they touch
the rubber ring on the glass shade. Do NOT overtighten screws
as glass may crack or break. [Note: Leave rubber ring on glass
shade intact.]

11. Testing Your Fan.

It is recommended that you test fan before finalizing
installation. Restore power from circuit box and wall switch (if
applicable). Test fan speeds with the pull chain labeled FAN.
Start at the OFF position (no blade movement). First pull will
set the fan to HI. Second pull will set the fan to MEDIUM.
Third pull will set the fan to LOW. Fourth pull will re-set the
fan to OFF setting. If applicable, test light with the pull chain
labeled LIGHT. (diagram 1.) If fan and/or light do (does) not
function, please refer to "Troubleshooting" section to solve
any issues before contacting Customer Service.
Turn fan completely off before moving the reverse switch. Set
reverse switch to recirculate air depending on the season:
- DOWN position in summer (diagram 2)
- UP position in winter (diagram 3)
A ceiling fan will allow you to raise your thermostat setting in
summer and lower your thermostat setting in winter without
feeling a difference in your comfort.
Important: Reverse switch must be set either completely UP
or completely DOWN for fan to function. If the reverse switch
is set in the middle position (diagram 4), fan will not operate.
Note: Do NOT remove weatherproof cover from reverse
switch.
Attach pull chain extension(s) supplied or custom pull chain
extension(s) (sold separately) to the end(s) of the pull
chain(s).
