20. Please take care of the tools. Keep the tools clean for better and safer performance. Follow the
instructions to change the accessories. Inspect the extension cords periodically and replace them if
they are damaged. Keep the handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
21. Switch off the machine and disconnect the cable before maintenance or changing the accessories.
22. Remove the adjusting keys and wrenches. Always make sure that the keys and adjusting wrenches are
removed from the tool before turning it on.
23. Avoid incidental activation. Never carry the device whilst having your fingers on the switch when the
device is connected to a power supply source. When connecting the power supply cord to the power
source always make sure that the switch of the device is switched off, this is, in the "off" position.
24. When working outdoors, only use extension cables that are authorized for outdoor use. This reduces
the risk of electric shock.
25. Stay alert when operating the machine. Do not operate the tool when you are tired.
26. Use your tool at lower input load than specified on the nameplate to increase working efficiency and
decrease wear out.
27. Do not wipe plastic parts with solvent. Solvents such as gasoline, thinner, benzene, alcohol, ammonia
and oil may damage and crack plastic parts. Do not wipe them with such solvents. Wipe plastic parts
with a soft cloth lightly dampened with soapy water.
28. Use only original replacement parts.
II. PRECAUTIONS ON USING THE DEVICE
1.
Wear protective glasses to protect your eyes.
2.
The tool is strongly heated during the operation.
3.
Keep your hands away from the heating parts of the device. The small metal parts should not be
removed with the hands.
4.
Clean the device only when it has cooled down completely.
5.
Any activities performed on the device (assembling, disassembling of accessories, maintenance,
cleaning) can only be carried out when the batteries have been removed and the knife blade has
cooled down.
6.
Safe operation depends on one's work posture.
7.
When working in a highly elevated location, pay attention to objects and persons below.
8.
Clean the device regularly to avoid a persistent encrustation of dirt.
9.
Do not place the device close to combustible materials.
10. Make sure to keep the cutting elements clean and sharp.
III. USING BATTERIES
1.
New batteries are only partly charged. It means that they must be charged before their first use. When
charging the batteries pay attention to the indicator lamp on the battery charger (red light - battery
charging in operation, green light - battery charged or battery charger disconnected from the battery).
2.
Lithium-ion batteries can be charged at any moment, connecting the battery to and disconnecting
from the charger will not adversely impact its service life.
3.
The battery features a temperature monitoring system which makes possible to charge batteries at
ambient temperatures between 0 and 45 °C.
4.
Never charge the battery outdoors.
5.
Cracked or otherwise damaged batteries must never be inserted into the device. Danger of electrical
shock!
6.
Always keep the battery charger away from any kind of liquids.
7.
Always use batteries designed for this type of equipment. Using non-dedicated batteries may cause fire
or other injuries.
8.
Charge batteries only using the battery charger approved by the manufacturer. Use of different battery
chargers than the one approved by the manufacturer may cause fire.
9.
Idle batteries must be kept away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other metal objects,
which may cause short-circuit of battery contacts and in consequence may result in burns or fire.
10. Never open up the battery; store batteries away from heat sources (such as constant sun rays) and
fire.
10
11. Improper use of batteries may cause fluid leakage. Avoid contact with leaking fluid! In case of incidental
contact of the body with battery fluid, rinse skin with water. In case of incidental ingress of electrolyte
into eyes immediately seek medical attention. Contact of electrolyte with skin may cause burns and
skin irritation!
12. A damaged battery may generate fumes, which may lead to irritation of respiratory tracks when
inhaled. If such inhalation occurs, breath in fresh air and if symptoms still persist, seek medical attention.
13. When service life of the battery has expired, hand it over to the unit responsible for disposal of such
materials.
Failure to follow safety recommendations and instructions may result in serious
injuries or death!
