If using an optional RCBS Flash Hole Deburring Tool, RCBS recommends installation in station 2 (for left handed use) or 6
(for right handed use). Installation in this manner allows for clearance to use the VLD debur tool installed in station 1. The
FHDT are caliber-specifi c cutters designed to remove the burr that is sometimes left around the inside of the primer fl ash
hole during manufacture. The tools are available from your dealer and come in a wide range of calibers.
NON ROTATING STATIONS
Stations 7 and 8, located at the back top of the Brass Boss, are stationary positions and will not rotate like stations 1
through 6. They can be used for the case neck brushes, wool mops or any accessory with an 8-32 thread size. The round
hole on top of the Brass Boss is for installing the packet of dry case neck lube. The plastic cup fi ts into the hole and provides
a convenient way to apply a dry lubricant to case necks (see photo above.)
Also located on top of the unit is a storage well for tools when they are not being used.
Remember, you can confi gure the tools and accessories in any sequence that is convenient for your needs. It is not
necessary to have tools in all six rotating stations. However, we recommend that tall tools like the Flash Hole Deburring
Tool be mounted in station 2 or 6 to provide additional protection for the user and the tool.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The RCBS Brass Boss is designed to provide years of service with minimum maintenance. The high-impact plastic case
should be wiped occasionally with a soft cloth dampened with water. Do not attempt to clean the case with solvents or
harsh detergent products. Spray solvents may permanently damage the plastic case and are not recommended.
With continued use, brass chips will accumulate around the tool stations. After each session with the Brass Boss, disconnect
the power cord from the wall outlet and remove chips and other debris with a soft brush to preserve its appearance.
Should the unit malfunction, do not attempt to disassemble it. It is not user-serviceable. Call us for instructions.
