5.4.1 Filler material

The filler material must be easily compacted, permeable, frost-resistant, will not slide and is free
of sharp objects.

For example, round gravel (grain of 4/ 6 in accordance with DIN 4226-1, see 5.2) displays these
properties.

Excavated soil or sand are not suitable.

Top soil, clays and other cohesive soils are not suitable for use as filler.

5.5 Laying connections

All infeed lines must be laid with an incline of at least 2 %. Subsequent settling should be taken into ac-
count. The line is connected to the connectors to be opened on the tank. The infeed line should be laid as
straight as possible. Any bends needed should be produced using max. 30° fittings.
To allow ventilation of the tank, a DN 100 KG pipe must be connected to a free connector which rises to
the ventilation point (deaeration end art. no. 202004) . It is not permitted to connect the tank to the ventila-
tion systems of other structures.
5.6 Seal integrity check
In some states of Germany the seal integrity of the septic tanks and inlet seals should be checked, see
DIN 1986-30:2012-02. The seal integrity check may only be undertaken by a specialist company.
In order to undertake the seal integrity check, the inlet pipe (KG pipe DN 110/ 100) must be slid approx.
200 mm through the inlet opening.
This allows the inlet pipe to be sealed for the seal integrity check via the inspection opening.
Alternatively, a T-piece (KG DN 110/ 100) can be fitted upstream of the tank and used to seal the inlet for
the seal integrity check.

The tank dome should be placed on the shaped and opened DN 200 connector with the
socket. It can be shortened from above but must never be lengthened. The supplied tele-
scope 220 with removable cover forms the end at the ground surface. Concrete shafts or
similar may never be used, only the GRAF tank dome DN 200.
