Instruction for use
The Clara water kettle is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass. This special glass has no smell or
flavour and does not give off any substances to the water, making it very suitable for people who
desire natural and non-reactive materials. The pore-free surface means that it is easy to clean and will
not discolour. The Clara water kettle is designed for gas, ceramic, electrical stove tops and microwave
oven.
For the use and care of your water kettle, please note the following:
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Use to heat water only
• Do not fill the kettle beyond the max fill line.
• Heat the water kettle evenly and never heat it up when empty. Warm up the source of heat and the
water kettle together.
• Place the kettle on the centre of the burner. Ensure that the hotplate is not smaller than the base of
the kettle.
• On a gas stove, the flame should not extend beyond the edge of the base of the water kettle.
• Never allow this water kettle to boil dry.
• The handle and body of this glass kettle will become hot during normal use. Please use caution
when using and handling this water kettle as you would with any hot object.
• This water kettle will contain hot water/become hot under normal use.
• Avoid any sudden cooling and never stand the water kettle on a cold or wet base when it is hot.
• Place the lid on this kettle when in use on the stovetop or whenever there is hot liquid inside.
• Do not use the water kettle in a microwave oven with its metal lid or whistle on. Please note the
instruction for use provided by the manufacturer of the microwave oven.
• Do not use the water kettle if it is damaged. The thermal qualities of the kettle will change and there
is a risk of injury.
• Pointed, metal, or sharp objects may damage the surface of the glass
Cleaning instruction:
To remove scale-type residue, never use cleaning agents that scratch or scour or any scouring pads
made of plastic, natural materials or steel wool. They may attack the surface of the glass and alter the
thermal qualities of the kettle.
The water kettle is easily cleaned in a dishwasher or by hand washing with dish soap.
For regular removal of scale from the kettle we recommend using BODUM
(art.no. 05-3000CD2).
Add 25g of powder for each 1l (34oz) of hot water. Stir to dissolve. Hold solution in vessel for up to
30minutes. Rinse all parts thoroughly.
