WARNING! Always wear protective goggles.
When carrying out operations in which the cutting tools may come into contact with
hidden wires, hold the power tool by the insulated surfaces. Contact with a "live" wire can
put "live" the exposed metal parts of the tool and cause electric shocks to the operator.
Do not drill, screw or break existing walls or other blind areas where electrical wiring may
be present. If the situation is unavoidable, disconnect any fuses or circuit breakers that
power the job site.
Use a metal detector to check for gas pipes or water pipes that are not visible in the work
area or ask for assistance from the local electricity company before starting operations.
Hitting or cutting a gas line causes an explosion. Penetrating water into an electrical
device can cause electric shock.
Always hold the appliance with both hands for optimal control. Always maintain a safe
and well balanced support position to have better control of the tool in unexpected
situations. Keep your hands away from the cutting area and do not put them under the
material to be cut.
The proximity of the blade to the hands is not visible. Do not use blunt or damaged blades.
Bent blades can break easily or cause kickback. Be very careful when handling
accessories, which are very sharp. Wear protective gloves when replacing cutting
accessories. Accessories heat up after prolonged use.
Use thick padded gloves and limit exposure time, with frequent breaks. The vibrations
caused by the tool can be harmful to hands and arms. Before scraping, check the
workpiece to make sure there are no nails. If there are nails, remove or drive them well
below the intended finished surface. Hitting nails with the edge of the accessory could
cause the appliance to jump.
Do not sanding wet with the appliance. Liquids entering the motor body are a risk of
electric shock. Never work in areas that are soaked in liquid, such as solvent or water, or
that are damp, such as freshly applied wallpaper. There is a danger of electric shock
when working in these conditions with a power tool and the heating of the liquid caused
by the scraping action can generate the emission of harmful vapors from the workpiece.
Always wear safety glasses and a dust mask for dusty applications and when sanding
overhead. The sanding particles can be absorbed by the eyes and inhaled easily,
resulting in health complications.
Take special precautions when sanding chemically pressure treated wood, paint that may
contain lead or other materials that may contain carcinogens. Anyone entering the work
area must wear suitable respirator and protective clothing. The work area must be sealed
with plastic sheets and unprotected people must be kept at a distance until the work
area has been thoroughly cleaned.
