Important
If you have a heart pacemaker, use the pulse measuring device
only after you have obtained the approval of your doctor or the
manufacturer of the pacemaker.
On hot summer days, it may be more comfortable to wear the
transmitter over a T-Shirt. In this case, the T-Shirt under the elec-
trodes must be moistened.
Technical specification
The Kettler Cardio Pulse Set consists of three main components:
Chest belt: elastic material adjustable in length and fitted with
two plastic-coated electrodes.
Transmitter: attached to chest belt and powered by battery; aver-
age lifespan of battery, 2 years of average utilization
(1 hour per day).
Receiver:
this is inserted into the socket provided in the training
computer of your ergometer instead of the earclip
lead.
Maintenance
When not in regular use, the transmitter should be removed from
the belt, otherwise the battery will tend to discharge.
Following use, the transmitter and the electrodes should be cleaned
with mild soap and rinsed with water. Never use alcohol, chemical
detergents or abrasives such as steel wool, as these may cause
irreparable damage to the electrodes. The electrodes should nei-
ther be excessively stretched nor bent (especially in storage) as this
reduces their electrical conductivity.
