Spread and level a layer of cement or mortar on the subfloor where the whirlpool supports will be
located.
Allow the cement or mortar to set, then remove the dam.
Install the Ledger Strip
Cut three ledger strips from 2x4 lumber to fit the framing pocket. The rear ledger strip should be
60" (152.4 cm) long. The end ledger strips must extend 39-3/4" (101 cm) from the rear ledger strip.
If applicable, adjust the dimensions accordingly for beveled ends.
Install the ledger strips in the alcove no higher than 16-1/2" (41.9 cm) above the level floor. Make
sure that the ledger strip is level before fastening it into place.
NOTE: The large-head roofing nails must penetrate the framing studs a minimum of 1" (2.5 cm).
Fasten the ledger strips to each stud using two large-head roofing nails per stud.
