Electrical installation
Disconnect the system from the power supply!
It is possible for the system to be unintentionally
started while you are connecting the devices.
CAUTION
The samos®PRO safety control fulfills the EMC provisions in
accordance with basic technical standard EN 61000-6-2 for the
industrial sector.
The switchgear cabinet or installation housing for the safety
control system samos®PRO muss be at least protection rating
IP 54.
Installation in accordance with EN 50274
Electrical installation in accordance with EN 60204-1
In order to ensure EMC safety, the standard rail must be connect-
ed to PE.
You need to connect all modules of the safety control system
samos®PRO, the connected protection devices and the power
supply(s) to the same ground connection (GND).
The power supply to the devices must able to bridge a short-term
power outage of 20 ms in accordance with EN 60204-1.
The power supply must meet the regulations for low-voltage with
safe disconnection (SELV, PELV) in accordance with EN 60664
and EN 50178 (equipping high-voltage systems with electronic
equipment).
The lines (e.g. a connected reset button) must be routed in
individual separate sleeving.
All connected command units and downstream control units and
the wiring and routing must be in accordance with the required
safety characteristic values.
The external loads must be equipped with e.g. with varistors or RC
elements in order to protect the safety outputs and to extend the
life cycle. You must be aware of the fact that the response times
will be extended, depending on the type of protection circuit.
The safety outputs and the protection monitor (EDM) must be
wired within the switchgear cabinet.
The operating instructions contain more information that must be
complied with when using the safety control system samos®PRO
COMPACT.
