3.3.2 d
etAching the cutting tool
Turn the plain bearing back to the stop.
Lock the spindle in place by pressing the button.
Loosen the screw, and remove the tool.
The tools must run true. Do not use tools which
have gotten out of round. Trial run! Check tools
before use. The tool must be correctly mounted
and must rotate freely. Perform a trial run a minimum over
a period of 30 seconds without load. Do not used tools
which are damaged, which do not run true or which vi-
brate!
3.4 w
orKing instructions
The optimal cutting result is obtained when the tool is
moved under a slight pressure uniformly over the edge
of the workpiece you are processing. When working with
the machine, always move it away from your body. Do not
work with the machine over your head. The machine must
be operated with both hands at all times. When working
with the machine, make sure that both of your hands are
18
kept clear of the site you are processing. Do not use the
machine on the workpiece until the set speed has been
reached. Do not move the machine over the surface of
the workpiece until the slide disc has contacted it fully.
The machine must always be moved from left to right
when chamfering. Note the machine's sense of rotation.
Process holes clockwise. The maximum depth setting per
operation should not exceed 4 mm on steel (max duty
cycle 50%).

To work effectively and surely keep the
machine and the ventilation slots clean at
all times. Check carbon brushes and re-
place if necessary. Clean motor housing and replenish
grease filling in gearbox housing. When the brushes are
spent, the machine will stop automatically (230V).
To maintain the protective insulation the machine must be
subjected to a technical safety inspection. This work must
be done exclusively by a specialized electrical workshop.
When working on metal under extreme working conditions
conductive dust deposits can occur inside the machine,
thereby impairing the protective insulation of the machine.
In such cases the use of a stationary vacuuming system,
frequent blowing out of the ventilation slots and protection
by a fault current protection switch are advised.
4.1.1 c
hAnging the cArBon Brushes
The Automatic-Stop feature protects the machine from
defects due to excessively consumed carbon brushes
(230V). The machine is equipped with two carbon brush-
es, i.e. one is installed in each handle half. The carbon
brushes must be changed as follows:
Unscrew four screws and remove the handle halves.
