Preparing your plant pot
and planting

Do this away from the Tray to ensure no substrate falls into the Tray or Valve.
1. Put the Root Control Disc into the base of the pot, dark side up.
2. Push it down to follow the shape of the base of the pot.
3. Empty one bag of Expanded Clay Pebbles into the pot and level them.
4. Ensure there are no gaps between the Root Control Disc and the side
wall of the pot. Gaps will allow roots to get past.
5. Now fill the pot to the rim with loose substrate (soil/compost/coco).
6. Transplant your young plant and gently firm the substrate while ensuring the
level of substrate does not fall below the ridge. Either gently tap the pot onto
the floor, or press down the surface of the substrate. If the substrate level drops
below the ridge on the pot you have compacted it too much or the pot was
not full enough.
7. Water the plant in well allowing any excess to drain thoroughly. If you are
growing in Coco, the water must include nutrients, ensure some run-off.
8. Clean the outside of the pot if necessary.
9. The planted pot can now be placed into the tray.
