INSTALLATION
• After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is intact; if in doubt, do not
use it and call in qualified staff. Packaging components (plastic bags, expanded
polystyrene, nails, etc.) must not be left within reach of children since they are
potentially hazardous; they must be disposed of in accordance with the current law in
the relevant recycling bins. Warning: any stickers or advertising leaflets affixed to the
appliance must be removed prior to its use.
• Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage values marked on the
nameplate are the same as those of the electrical mains, and that the power socket is
properly earthed. If the appliance's plug is not compatible with the socket, have the
socket replaced with another of suitable type by qualified staff, who must ensure that
the socket's wire gauge is suitable for the appliance's power draw. In general, the use
of adapters and/or extension leads is not recommended; if their use is unavoidable,
they must comply with current safety regulations and their current rating (amps) must
be no lower than the maximum current draw of the appliance.
• Before each use, check that the appliance is in good condition and ensure that the
power cord is not damaged and do not switch it on unless certain it is intact: if in
doubt, call in qualified staff.
• The power socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be removed easily in
an emergency.
• Place the appliance on a flat, horizontal, stable surface, well away from:
- heat sources (e.g. naked flames, gas burners, etc.)
- containers of liquids (e.g. bathtubs, showers, sinks, etc.) to ensure it cannot be
splashed with or fall into water (distance of at least 2 metres)
- fabrics (curtains, etc.) or volatile materials which may obstruct the intake grille; also
ensure that there are no volatile materials (dust, etc.) on the front of the appliance.
