Applications
The overtravel distance tester C578 is intended for checking the overtravel of
linearly operating hydraulic, pneumatic and spindle presses in accordance with
VBG 7n5.2 §11.
Functions
The overtravel distance tester C578 has four safety circuits, three NO contacts
and one NC contact. Two LEDs indicate the functions.
The C578 tests the overtravel distance in connection with a position switch
every time the control voltage is switched on. The permissible overtravel
distance corresponds to dimension 's' of the cam that is used to operated the
position switch (Fig. V). Obtain dimension 's' from the press manufacturer in
accordance with ZH 1/456 (published by the German Central Office for Accident
Prevention and labour safety, Cologne).

Das Nachlaufweg-Prüfgerät ist durch eine interne selbstheilende PTC-Sicherung
(Multifuse) geschützt.
Halten Sie die vorgeschriebene Absicherung unbedingt ein,
nur so ist ein sicheres Abschalten im Fehlerfall gewährleistet.

9 Plunger does not move. S1, S2 no longer operated. K4 drops out.
10 S1, S2 are operated. K4 picks up again. H1 lights up.
11 S1, S2 no longer operated. K4 drops out. K2 picks up. the plunger moves
upwards.
12 S4 is no longer operated.
13 Top dead centre is reached. S3 is operated.
14 S1 and S2 are operated. K2 drops out. K3 and K4 pick up.
15 Plunger moves downwards. S3 is no longer operated.
16 S1, S2 are no longer operated. K3 and K4 drop out. K2 picks up.
14 to 16 are repeated with every stroke.
