Step 10
Check whether the Loss of Sensing (LOS) protection has tripped.
If it has tripped, check:
1. that connections are correct;
2. that the sensing settings are consistent with the connection diagrams supplied along with the
generator.
Then modify any incorrect connections and/or settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 11.
Step 11
Check whether the Diode Monitoring (DMS) protection has tripped.
If it has tripped, check:
1. that the generator bridge rectifier diodes are not damaged and are working properly (see the User
and Maintenance Manual of the generator);
2. that the protection settings are consistent with the characteristics of the machine and of the
applications.
Repair the bridge rectifier, if necessary, and/or modify any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 12.
Step 12
Check whether the overexcitation limiter (OEL) has tripped.
If it has tripped, check that the limiter settings are consistent with the characteristics of the machine and
of the applications.
Edit any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 13.
Step 13
Check whether the FCR mode is enabled.
If it is disabled, move to Step 14.
Otherwise check whether the FCR digital contact (C8 by default) is improperly controlled or broken, by
following the procedure described below:
1. fully disconnect D-Vo from the remainder of the system;
2. power D-Vo for an external source, in accordance with the specifications, then check the colour of
the FCR LED, in the Monitor area.
If:
the LED is on: the FCR mode is enabled even when the FCR contact (C8) is open; move to Step
14.
LED off: the FCR mode is properly disabled when the FCR contact (C8) is open; therefore you need
to check the proper operation of the control system of the FCR digital input (C8) (a component not
supplied by Marelli).
Step 14
Replace the regulator.
With the generator running at the rated speed, no load, the voltage at the output terminals is lower than the rated
value, but higher than the residual voltage of the generator
Step 1
Check the D-Vo settings. In particular, use D-Vo Dashboard to check that:
1. the rated voltage setting is consistent with the nameplate data of the generator;
2. the sensing settings are consistent with the nameplate data of the generator and with the D-Vo
specifications;
3. the voltage setpoint is the required operating setting.
Edit any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 2.
Step 2
Check whether the overexcitation limiter (OEL) has tripped.
If it has tripped, check that the limiter settings are consistent with the characteristics of the machine and
of the applications.
Edit any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 3.
Step 3
Check whether the underfrequency limiter (UF) has tripped.
If it has tripped, check that the limiter settings are consistent with the characteristics of the machine and
of the applications.
Edit any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 4.
Step 4
Check whether the FCR mode is enabled.
If it is disabled, move to Step 5.
Otherwise check whether the FCR digital contact (C8 by default) is improperly controlled or broken, by
following the procedure described below:
