3. Mounting the chuck on the machine spindle

1. Mounting the chuck on the machine spindle
1.1 Check the machine spindle or the machine-mounted
finished-machined adapter plate for radial and axial
run-out (permissible tolerance 0,005 mm to DIN 6386
and ISO 3089).
1.2 The centre mount must be designed so that the
chuck makes full contact with the mount face.
The plate or spindle face must be perfectly flat.
1.3 Remove the locking screw (33) at front side of chuck
and press chuck mounting screws (21) inwards till
the stop.
1.4 Move draw bar fully forward.
1.5 Draw clamping piston (03) in the chuck to the left
side, in rear position (Jaws in full inward position).
1.6 Screw power chuck on until it stops at the draw bar.
1.7 Turn chuck as far back as the bore and the alignment
nut of the spindle head coincide.

4. Adjustment of spring package for

pull-down counterforce

1. The pull-down counterforce is adjusted on workside
to a certain minimum size. If a higher force shall be
necessary when chuck is manufactured this can be
corrected without any problem with Röhm chucks.
The ideal pull-down counterface must be found
out in a test.
