Testing with the anode tester
Observe the operating instructions for the anode tester.
There must be an insulated installation of the magnesium anode when
using an anode tester to measure the protection current
( Fig. 41, page 55).
The protection current can only be measured if the cylinder is filled with
water. Ensure that there is proper contact of the terminals. Only connect
terminals to shiny metal surfaces.
▶ Release the ground wire (contact cable between the anode and
cylinder) at one of the two connection points.
▶ Attach the red cable to the anode and the black cable to the cylinder.
▶ If the ground wire has a plug: Connect the red cable to the thread of
the magnesium anode.
▶ Remove the ground wire for the measuring procedure.
▶ Connect the ground wire correctly again after every test.
If the anode current is < 0.3 mA:
▶ Replace the magnesium anode.

Visual check
Never bring the surface of the magnesium anode into
contact with oil or grease.
▶ Keep everything clean.
▶ Shut off the cold water inlet.
▶ Depressurize the DHW cylinder ( Fig. 33, page 53).
▶ Remove and check the magnesium anode
( Fig. 42, page 55 and Fig. 43, page 55).
If the diameter is < 15 mm:
▶ Replace the magnesium anode ( Fig. 44, page 56).
▶ Check the transfer resistance between the earth connection and the
magnesium anode.

Environment/disposal
Environmental protection is a key commitment of the Bosch Group.
Quality of products, efficiency and environmental protection are equally
important objectives for us. Environmental protection laws and
regulations are strictly observed.
To protect the environment, we use the best possible technology and
materials while taking into account economic considerations.
Packaging
Where packaging is concerned, we participate in country-specific
recycling systems that ensure optimum recycling.
All of our packaging materials are environmentally compatible and can
be recycled.
Used appliances
Old appliances contain materials that must be recycled.
The relevant assemblies are easy to separate and all plastics are marked.
In this way the individual assemblies can be easily sorted and directed to
recycling or disposal.

Shutdown
▶ If an immersion heater has been installed (accessory), isolate the
DHW cylinder from the power supply.
▶ Switch off the temperature controller at the control unit.
WARNING: Risk of scalding from hot water.
▶ Let the DHW cylinder cool down sufficiently.
▶ Drain the DHW cylinder ( Fig. 32 and 33, page 53).
▶ Shut down all the assemblies and accessories of the heating system
as specified in the manufacturer's technical documents.
▶ Close the shut-off valves ( Fig. 34, page 53 and Fig. 35, page 53).
▶ Depressurize the upper and lower indirect coils.
▶ Drain and blow out the upper and lower heat exchangers
( Fig. 36, page 54).
To prevent corrosion:
▶ Leave the cover of the inspection port open, so that the interior can
dry out well.
