6.2 Cleaning and maintenance

Your ThermoDock temperature measuring module is a
high-precision instrument. Handle with care to avoid
damaging the electronics and prevent defects. No regular
maintenance or calibration is required if the module is
used in accordance with these instructions.
The sensor is the most delicate part of the ThermoDock.
Protect it from dirt and damage.
Observe the following instructions:
• Keep the module free from dirt, dust, water stains
and fluids.
• Clean the sensor with a cotton bud dipped in warm
water or 70% isopropyl alcohol.
• Ensure that the ThermoDock module is disconnected
from your iPod touch / iPhone / iPad.
• Clean the surface of the module with a slightly damp
cloth (with water and a mild detergent). Only use the
unit again when completely dry.
• Never use aggressive cleaning agents, thinners, spirit
or tough brushes.
• Never use cleaning agents on the module.
• Never immerse the module in water. Do not allow
water or other liquids to penetrate the device. It is not
watertight. Dry the module with a lint-free cloth after
cleaning.
• Do not use or store the unit in an environment where
the ambient temperature or humidity is too high or
too low (see "Technical specifications", page 33), in
direct sunshine, in the vicinity of static electricity or in
a dusty environment.
• Put the module back in its carrying case after each
use.
• Do not store the module in a vehicle, bathroom or
refrigerator.
