LINEAR 3 MANUAL
4.2 Horizontal alignment of LR 112 and LR 115
using the HK AUDIO DuoTilt™
The HK AUDIO DuoTilt™ helps you align LR 112 and LR 115
full-range cabinets along the horizontal plane to prevent or
reduce interference from ceiling reflections. The front opening
of the HK AUDIO DuoTilt™ gives you a 7.5° angle, the rear
opening a 15 ° angle of tilt.
7,5° angle of tilt
If you choose to set the full-range cabinets on a fully extended
cabinet tripod or mounting pole, insert the pole into the
cabinet mounting socket that provides an angle of 15°.
This alignment option works particularly well with the Sound
Field Selector setting in the CLOSE position when you want to
address an audience where not many listeners are standing
directly in front of the speakers.
This configuration ensures that within this sound field, higher
frequencies will be less aggressive and will sound softer and
more musical to listeners' ears.
If you want to address an audience where the majority of
listeners are a good distance from the cabinets, opt for using
the HK AUDIO DuoTilt™ at its 7.5° angle. This alignment
option works particularly well with the Sound Field Selector
setting in the REGULAR position. This configuration ensures
that higher frequencies remain clear and present in the back
rows of the venue.
Note: Your choice of Sound Field Selector setting (CLOSE or
REGULAR) may also depend on personal taste.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

The SIGNAL LEDs do not light up!
1. Check if the power amp is switched on and the speakers are
connected properly. For more on this, see chapter 2, Setting
Up and Connecting Speakers.
2. If the speakers work but the SIGNAL LEDs do not light up,
the batteries (2 x Mignon AA) must be replaced. To replace
them, unscrew the connector panel on the back of the cabi-
net. You will find the battery compartment is easily accessi-
ble and is located on the crossover's main board.
15° angle of tilt
The SIGNAL LEDs light up even though speaker cords
are disconnected!
1. The LEDs' circuitry is designed to remain illuminated approx.
10 to 15 minutes after use.
The SIGNAL LEDs light up in different colors!
1. The SIGNAL LED changes colors from green to yellow
depending on the Sound Field Selector's setting. For more
on this, see section 1.3, Sound Field Selector. Check if the
left and right cabinets are set to the same sound field
(CLOSE or REGULAR).
All speaker cords are connected, but no sound
is audible!
1. Check if the power amp is switched on and the mixing
console is connected to the power amp.
2. Check if the Speakon connectors that are plugged into the
input jacks are locked into place. Twist the connector clock-
wise until it engages.
You have set up a satellite system and the upper
cabinets are working fine but no bass signal is heard
coming from the subwoofer!
1. Check if the LR 112 or LR 115 full-range cabinets are
connected to the LR 118 Sub Subwoofer's SATELLITE OUT.
Be sure to connect the cables in the proper order!
First connect the power amp's (or powered mixer's) speaker
output to the LR 118 Sub Subwoofer's input (IN), and then
connect the LR 118 Sub Subwoofer's SATELLITE OUT to the
LR 112 or LR 115 full-range cabinet's input (IN). For more
on this, see chapter 2, Setting Up and Connecting Speakers.
