1. Presentation
709 is a multimeter.
Lighting, AC/DC detection and automatic change of ranges all
guarantee improved safety and more practical operation for the user.
The design and manufacture of this product according to EN 61010-
1 600V CAT III and EN 61243-3 standards make this product a
professional tool that you may use for diagnostic operations or when
checking for the absence of voltage.
709 enables you to measure:
- AC and DC voltages
- resistances
It also includes:
- continuity sound testing
- phase/neutral identification
- inclination of the phase rotation direction
(« 2-wire » method)
- display backlighting
- maintained voltage measurement
- an automatic lighting and extinguishing device
This instrument provides the following advantages :
- IP2X test probes not necessary according to EN 61243-3.
- rugged tool : withstands up to 2m fall.

1. Disconnectable test points: • 2mm
2. Tolerance
The antislide tolerance on the entire perimeter of the device protects
the user from any accidental contact with an uninsulated conductor.
3. Selftest pushbutton / Continuity test – Resistance measurement.
4. 2000 point display
5. Phase rotation LED (green): clockwise
6. Phase rotation LED (red): counter-clockwise / Voltage detection
during resistance measurement (Volt-test)
7. Phase identification LED (red)
8. Phase rotation pushbutton
9. Contact area: Ph/N detection
10. Digital display hold pushbutton (HOLD)
Description of display :
3. AUTOTEST
Always run a self-test before using your multimeter.
Never use it if the self-test is wrong.
AUTOTEST
The self-test is a way of checking the
performance of the battery and the cords.
Implementation:
Connect the cords as indicated.
Bring the red contact tip of the device into
contact with that of the black cord.
Press the self test pushbutton.
Result :
The display and the backlighting come on, the
display reads a value lower than 0.002 kΩ: the
self test is correct.
The "battery" symbol is displayed temporarily:
the self test is correct. If the battery symbol remains
lighted for more than 5 s, the battery will need
replacing.
