INDICATIONS FOR USE

The LifePort Kidney Transporter Cover is intended to assist in the transportation of the LifePort Kidney
Transporter, and optional Biological Substance Category B (UN 3373) clinical samples and donor/
organ documentation storage.
1.
Check the Ice Container temperature and battery level before placing the LifePort Kidney
Transporter inside the device compartment. Replenish ice and charge batteries if necessary
before shipping.
2.
Place the donor/organ documentation into the designated optional pouch. If required, use zip-tie
to seal donor/organ documentation pouch for secured access.
3.
With the Cover on the LifePort, place the Transporter inside device compartment. Ensure the
front panel of the LifePort Kidney Transporter faces the transparent window on the front of the
Cover.
4.
Close the Cover using the zippers. If required, to secure the closed Cover, secure both zippers
together with a zip-tie.
5.
The shipper is responsible for the proper packaging of Biological Substance Category B (UN
3373) if biological samples will accompany the organ. All shipments of Biological Substance
Category B (UN 3373) must comply with all applicable local, state, federal and country specific
laws governing packing, marking and labeling.
WARNING: Blood, urine, fluids and other specimens containing or suspected of
containing infectious substances must be shipped according to applicable government
and International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations. For more information
consult your internal policies and procedure on biological sample shipments.
If required, secure this compartment using a zip-tie.
6.
Store the Power Cord and extra batteries in either the left or right side compartment located on
the upper portion of the LifePort Kidney Transporter Cover.
7.
Whenever a power supply is available, the LifePort unit should be plugged into main power
supply to maintain a full charge. You may gain access to the Battery Compartment of the LifePort
Kidney Transporter Cover by opening the zipper located at the rear of the Cover.
8.
Use either the left or right compartment located on the upper portion of the LifePort Kidney
Transporter Cover to store the retractable handle.
9.
During transportation, the LifePort Kidney Transporter Cover may be pulled by putting the three
(3) components of the retractable handle together and hooking up the handle onto the two metal
D-shape rings.
10. The handle can be kept in upright position by opening and tightening the designated strap on the
side.
11.
Shipping documents and Human Organ leaflet may be placed into the transparent pouches on
top and at the rear side of the LifePort Kidney Transporter Cover.
