Components

The PSC 2 is a non-contacting, self-testing safety device
for working pits operating on the basis of infrared light.

2 Main assembly

3.3.1

Sensors

There are 2 sensor types: transmitter and receiver.
Sensors are always used in pairs. The sensors are pro-
tected by a plastic cover (lens cover).
The sensors monitor the pit in lateral direction and de-
tect objects that are larger than 25 cm.

Transmitter
The transmitter sends out infrared rays and generates
an invisible light guard, which monitors access to ha-
zard locations and danger areas (detection field).
Receiver
The receiver is mounted opposite the transmitter and
receives the infrared rays emitted.

If reception of the infrared rays is not impeded, the
brake test can be performed.

If the light guard is interrupted, the control module
switches to "OFF" and the movement of the rollers in
the sets of rollers is halted.
3.3.2
The release unit activates the pit guard and monitors
the light guard.

The main assembly regulates operation of the pit guard.
It also supplies voltage for the connected parts of the
tester set. The main assembly itself receives its voltage
from the electrical cabinet.
