• To prevent burns, do not direct the jet of hot water towards your body and do not touch the
coffee dispensing system.
• Do not use the machine outdoors and make sure electrical parts, plugs and cables are dry.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Protect the appliance from splashes and dripping
• Never use extension cables in areas where there is a bathtub or shower.
• Unwind the whole power cable to prevent dangerous overheating.
• Do not pull the power cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains.
• Always disconnect the appliance when you fill up the tank with water or carry out any checks.
• Children must be supervised to make sure they do not play with the appliance.
• The appliance is not intended to be used by people (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities or by people who are not experienced in using the machine and are
not familiar with it, unless they are supervised and have been suitably instructed in its use by a
person responsible for their safety.
• The appliance can be used by children from eight (8) years of age upwards and by people
with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities who are not experienced in using the machine
and are not familiar with it only if they are adequately supervised or if they have fully understood
the hazards associated with it. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning must not be
carried out by children unless they are over eight (8) years of age and are supervised.
• In the event of a fault, malfunction or for repairs considered as extraordinary maintenance, turn
off the appliance without tampering with it and without carrying out any work. For repairs contact
qualified personnel only or an authorised support centre and ask them to use original spare parts.
Failure to comply with these rules may compromise the safety of the appliance.
• Do not leave the power cable near hot surfaces, edges or sharp objects.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced with one with identical features and only by
qualified personnel. Danger of death due to electric shocks!
• Do not place your hands in the capsule compartment. Danger of injury.
• Never remove machine parts. Do not insert any object in the openings. This may cause electric
shocks.
• Do not dispose of the machine in the environment. To dispose of it correctly, contact an
authorised centre or Fratelli Guzzini Spa, who will provide further information.
• Position the appliance about 30 cm away from walls and other machines to improve ventilation.
• The machine must be installed on a level, sound, steady and heat-resistant surface. The slope
of the support surface must not exceed 2° (degrees).
• Before going ahead with any installation, maintenance steps, etc., the technician must wear
work gloves and safety footwear.
• For any communication to Fratelli Guzzini Spa related to technical considerations or failures,
always report the model name and serial number of the appliance. The data is reported on the
label located underneath the machine's base.

INSTALLATION
Before going ahead with the installation, carefully read the paragraph on "General safety
warnings".
Take out the appliance from the packaging.
Place the appliance on a level surface in a stable position.
Place the appliance indoors in the house.
Lift the cover of the tank (2), fill the water tank to the MAX level mark with natural, non-carbonated
drinking water and with a hardness value below 20°f (French degrees). Put the lid back (2).
Connect the appliance to a power outlet suitable earthed by using the power cable (9). Make
sure the outlet is suitable for the load of the machine (see technical features). Do not use multiple
outlets and/or extension cables.
Before putting the machine into service, we recommend making 4 or 5 espressos: you
should not actually serve these (and if necessary you can re-use the same capsule) and
they will help wash the internal circuits and remove any residues
WARNINGS
Do not use the machine if there is no water. Always make sure the water in the tank is above the
minimum level and that the tank itself is always well attached to the machine.
MAKING AN ESPRESSO
Carefully read this instruction manual before using the appliance.
To make a good espresso, the machine needs to be ready, therefore:
• Turn the machine on by pressing the main switch (1). The tank and dispenser compartment
lights turn on, the red ON/OFF button (5) turns on. After about 90 seconds, the button's light (5)
switches from red to white, the appliance has reached the ideal temperature and is ready for use.
• lift the loading lever (3) and put in the capsule
• lower the lever
• put the cup on the grid (7) of the discharge drawer near the dispenser nozzle (6)
CAUTION: The grid and relative drawer are designed to be able to adjust the gap
between the cup and the dispenser nozzle: the drawer grid can be lifted and lowered
to use both cups for espresso coffee (up) and cups for other drinks (down) (see figure
00).
• press the ON-OFF button (5) to start dispensing coffee.
• when you reach the desired amount, stop the supply by pressing the ON-OFF button (5) again.
