1. Place bike in Park Tool Repair Stand or lift
bike off the ground so wheel can spin freely.
2. Spin wheel slowly and look for side-to-side
wobbles as the rim travels between the
brake pads.
3. If the rim wobbles to the right, tighten the
left side nipples within the area of the
wobble ¼ turn. If the rim wobbles to the
left, tighten the right side nipples within
the area of the wobble ¼ turn. Spin the
wheel slowly and note the impact. Repeat
as needed to remove the wobble. Note: If
further tightening could cause damage to
the nipple or create uneven spoke tension,
similar results can be obtained by loosening
the opposite side nipples ¼ turn within the
area of the wobble. For example, if the rim
wobbles to the right, loosen the right side
nipples within the area of the wobble.
4. Repeat procedure on other wobbles until the
wheel runs straight through the brake pads.
CM-5.2 Cyclone Chain Scrubber
The Cyclone Chain Scrubber cleans bicycle
chains quickly, easily, and effectively without the
hassle and mess of removing the chain from the
bike. Regular use improves shifting performance
and extends the life of the chain and other drive
train parts.
Instructions:
1. Place newspaper or other floor protection
under work area. Remove excess mud and
grime from chain and other components
with GSC-1 GearClean Brush and/or a rag.
Shift chain to smallest sprocket in the back.
2. Attach Cyclone around lower section of
chain.
3. Fill Cyclone with cleaning fluid to fill line. Park
Tool CB-2 Citrus ChainBrite is recommended.
Do not use gasoline, petrol, kerosene or
other volatile or flammable solvents.
4. Crank pedals backwards 30 revolutions.
5. Empty Cyclone and rinse with water. Squeeze
fluid from sponge.
6. Repeat steps 2 – 5.
A replacement brush and sponge kit is available
from your favorite retailer (Part # RBS-5).
CL-1 Synthetic Blend Chain Lube with PTFE
Using a proprietary blend of oils and PTFE,
CL-1 works great in wet or dry conditions.
It
penetrates,
reduces
friction,
component life, displaces moisture, and protects
parts from rust and corrosion. Apply a drop to
the inside of each chain link; then wipe off
excess with a rag. Also works great on brake
and derailleur pivot points.
CC-3.2 Chain Wear Indicator
A worn chain shifts poorly and wears sprockets
at an accelerated rate. The CC-3.2 is a "go no-
go" gauge designed to accurately indicate when
a chain reaches .5% and .75% wear, the points at
which most manufacturers suggest replacement
(contact the chain manufacturer for specific
replacement recommendations).
Instructions:
One side of the CC-3.2 is used to check for chain
wear at the .5% level; the other side is used to
check for chain wear at the .75% level. Select
correct side and lower CC-3.2 onto chain. If
gauge tip fits completely into chain link (Figure
1), the chain is worn and should be replaced. If
gauge tip does not fit into link (Figure 2), the chain
is not worn and does not require replacement.
CT-3.2 Chain Tool
The CT-3.2 is designed to work on most 5 to
11-speed derailleur chains* and 1/8" and 3/16"
single-speed chains. A heavy duty tool built for
daily shop use, the CT-3.2:
• Presses rivets out of the chain during removal
(Fig. 1)
• Presses rivets into the chain during installation
(Fig. 2)
• Removes the pilot from Shimano® connecting
rivets (and other brands) after installation
(Fig. 3)
Because of the wide variety of chain designs,
the procedures for removing and installing
derailleur and single-speed chains vary
significantly.
Always
consult
manufacturer or a qualified bicycle mechanic
for removal and installation instructions
specific to the chain's brand and model.

Note: To avoid loss and breakage of chain tool
pins, periodically inspect to make sure pin is
securely threaded into tool. Replacement pins
are available: Part #CTP or CTP-C.
