Starting up:
grip and your right hand on the main handle. Left-handed users should assume the same handling pattern
but in reverse. Set the power switch to "ON". Be prepared for the scouring head to start rotating. By acti-
vating the switch lock located on the side of the machine, you can set the machine to rotate continuously,
without the use of the ON/OFF switch.
Shutting down:
Set the power switch to "OFF". When the switch lock is active, the ON/OFF switch must be pressed once
quickly to deactivate the switch lock and turn off the machine. The scouring head will continue to rotate
for a few moments. Make sure that the scouring head has completely stopped rotating before you set the
machine aside.
Setting the rotation speed:
The rotation speed is fully variable and can be adjusted as required using the rotation speed controller. This
is also possible while the machine is in operation. A higher rotation speed allows for a higher rate of surface
removal, while a lower speed provides greater control of the surface treatment.

3.2.3 Adjusting the operating depth

The scouring machine includes a height-adjustable protective hood. Before adjusting the height, turn off the
machine and disconnect it from the power supply. Unfasten the three knurled nuts and pull the brush ring
downwards until you are able to twist the depth stop. Set your desired operating depth and then push the
brush ring upwards. The knurled nuts must now be refastened. Before continuing your work, check that the
protective hood is attached correctly.

3.2.4 Overload protection

For the purposes of protecting the operator and the device itself, the scouring machine is equipped with
electronic and thermal overload protection:
Electronic overload protection is activated when the contact pressure between the machine and the surface
shutting off the machine. Once you have released or reduced the pressure applied to the machine, you can
"OFF" and then "ON" again.
Thermal overload protection protects the machine's motor from damage should it be put under great strain
for a continued period. If the motor becomes too hot, the machine will switch itself off automatically. Opera-
tion can be resumed once the machine has been left to cool down for around 2 minutes. The duration of
the cool-down phase can vary depending on how hot the motor winding has become and how warm the
ambient temperature is.

4. STORAGE

The machine must not be exposed to wet or damp conditions. The power cable must be disconnected from
the power source before storage. It must not be used to hang the device. Always store the scouring machine
in its carrying case and keep it out of the reach of children.

5. MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the plug has been removed from the power socket before carrying out maintenance
work!
Keep the machine clean by regularly wiping it down with a damp cloth. Ensure that no objects or substanc-
es enter the machine's interior. Be sure to regularly clean the machine's ventilation slots, as the motor's fan
draws dust into the machine housing.
Keep all cutting instruments sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting parts with sharp edges become
jammed less often and are easier to operate.
Immediately replace worn or damaged machine parts and always ensure that the power cable is undam-
aged before switching on the machine.

5.2 REPLACING THE SCOURING WHEELS

extremely hot directly after use. For this reason, always wear gloves. You should never attempt to scour hard
concrete blocks or hard rock as they wear down the scouring wheels too quickly.
Release the M8 screw on the lower side of the tool using an Allen key while fastening the scouring head
with the enclosed Y-tool. After having removed the screw, remove the scouring head from the machine. In
every one of the four arms of the scouring head there is a M8 screw with a hex head. Release these screws
by turning the scouring head to the right. After that, the sockets can be pulled back which releases the
scouring wheels.
Correction
