IMPORTANT REMARKS:

The fixing points specified as standard must be observed.
National guidelines concerning official approval of auxiliaries must be observed.
These installation and operating instructions must be enclosed with the vehicle papers.
Retighten all fixing bolts of the tow ball and bracket after approx. 1000 trailer-km.
These fitting instructions must be attached to the vehicle documents.
This tow ball and bracket, including all minor components necessary for fitting, weighs 18,5 kg.
Please bear in mind that the unloaded weight of your vehicle will be higher by 18,5 kg when the
tow ball and bracket have been attached.
Mount 7-pin electrical system as per DINV 72570.
Mount 13-pin electrical system as per ISO 11446.
Keep the tow ball and the functional areas of the detachable system clean and greased.
The diameter of the tow ball is to be checked from time to time. For safety reasons, the towing
bracket can not longer be used when a diameter of 49 mm can be measured at any point on the
ball.
The tow ball and bracket may only be used for the towing of trailers equipped with corresponding
tow ball couplings. If it is necessary to remove the towing eyelet to enable the tow ball and
bracket to be fitted, the tow ball and bracket serve to replace it, provided that the allowable
towed load is not exceeded and towing takes place on usual traffic roads.
Please check the permissible trailer nose weight for your vehicle (50 kg or 60 kg) and affix the
appropriate adhesive trailer nose-weight plate at a clearly visible location close to the coupling ball
(inside the luggage compartment is also permissible).
The parts of the cooling system (E-fan, temperature switch, cooler) must be replaced in
some engines if a towing bracket is used with increased trailer load (1400/1500kg). Fur-
thermore, use of a track stabilising device, e.g. Westfalia SSK, is required.
