16. Always wear appropriate protective equipment against UV-C radiation, so that body parts and
eyes are not exposed to harmful UV-C radiation.
17. The casing of the Handheld and UV-C lamp remain warm for a long time after the device is
switched off. The cooling time is at least 10 minutes.
(RE)ACTION IN CASE OF UV EXPOSURE
Exposure to UV-C radiation can lead to serious injury. The harmfulness of UV radiation is not
immediately perceptible. The effects of exposure to UV radiation only become apparent later. When
exposed to UV radiation, the following actions are recommended.
•
Treat skin injuries immediately.
•
Consult a doctor in case of suspicion of eye damage.
PREPARING FOR USE
Perform the following steps to properly prepare the device for use:
1. Remove the unit from its packaging.
2. Put on the gloves provided. These gloves are for lamp protection and do not protect your
hands in case of glass breakage.
3. Remove the lamp from its packaging and insert the end without the contact pins into the lamp
holder with the spring. Press in the spring by pushing the lamp towards the rear. Insert the lamp
base into the socket and press all the way into the socket. Note, the lamp fits easily, but only in
one way, in the socket (Figure 1).
USING THE DEVICE
Perform the following steps to use the device correctly:
1. Take protective measures against UV-C radiation; this radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin.
Put on the face mask and keep the gloves on. Make sure that naked skin on the body, face and
head cannot be irradiated with UV-C.
2. Provide a safe environment for yourself and bystanders. Ensure that bystanders and pets cannot
be irradiated with UV-C.
3. Make sure that the device is switched off (Figure 5).
4. Insert the plug into a wall socket (Figure 2).
5. Aim the device at the surface to be irradiated. (Figure 4). At the start of the manual there is a
table with the indicated distance in combination with the irradiation duration. .
Warning; UV-C radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin!
6. Switch the unit on by pressing the switch (Figure 3). The UV-C lamp should heat up for about 30
seconds for optimal effect (Figure 4)
