MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Allow the Delecto barbecue to cool down before
moving it or putting it away. Never move the
appliance while the wood is burning or when
still hot.
• Always remove the batteries from the control
module before storage or if the appliance is not
going to be used for a long period.
• Always handle the grates with care.
ATTENTION: The slits and outer edges of the
grates may be sharp; never rub them with bare
hands. Always use a barbecue brush.
• The brush supplied is not intended for cleaning
the grate. It should only be used for cleaning the
bottom of the burner.
• Protect the batteries and control module from
the weather and extremes of temperature (hotter
than 130°F or 54°C, and colder than –4°F or –20°C).
Store in a dry place.
• To protect the integrity of your barbecue against
the effects of the environment, use the Woodflame
cover (sold separately) when the barbecue is not
in use.
• NEVER USE OVEN CLEANERS.
BEFORE cleaning any part of the barbecue,
allow the barbecue to cool down completely.
Cleaning
TIP
Allow remaining wood or a small piece of wood to burn at high temperature
once you are done cooking. This will burn off food and fat remains which will
then be easily removed with a brass BBQ brush.
BURNER
Lift out the burner and empty the ash into a metal container or bowl of water.
Brush out the bottom of the burner with the brush provided,
to ensure the air intake holes are not blocked.
GRATES
Care of stainless steel grates
Use a soft cloth or sponge to prevent scratches and marring of the stainless steel
grates.
Care of nickel-plated grates
Clean with a damp cloth, or a nylon or brass BBQ brush. Separate the grates and
collector trays before washing the trays in the dishwasher (there is no need to
remove the handles).
It is normal for the steel grates – both stainless steel and nickel-plated – to
change colour with use because of the intense heat from the burning wood.
CASING
If casing requires cleaning, use damp soapy cloth and wipe with clean damp cloth.
