• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be re-
placed by the manufacturer or its service agent
or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid
a hazard.
• Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid.
• The temperature of accessible surfaces may
be high when the appliance is operating.

1. A short power-supply cord is to be provided
to reduce the risk resulting from becoming en-
tangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer extension power-supply cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
3. If a long extension power-supply cord is
used, the electrical rating of the cord should be
at least as great as the electrical rating of the ap-
pliance.
4. The longer cord should be arranged so that
it will not drape over the countertop or table top
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over unintentionally.
5. NEVER use any extension cords that have
been taped or spliced or altered in any way.

PRE-CLEANING THE

Lightly coat (with cooking oil, butter or marga-
rine) the cooking surfaces before the unit is
used for the first time. Use the appliance for
about 10 minutes with the cooking surfaces
closed (see "using the unit"). Then wipe down
with a damp cloth. This should remove any ex-
cess paint or cardboard dust.
